It’s an all-new generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander, and the company announced that the PHEV version will arrive as a 2023 model. The Outlander comes along with more battery capacity and a larger electric motor than its predecessors from the previous generation.
The 2022 Outlander comes in 7 trim levels: ES, SE Launch Edition, SE, Black Edition, SEL, SEL Special Edition, and the SEL Launch Edition.
The Outlander comes with a 2.5-litre inline-four-cylinder engine that makes 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. It pairs exclusively with a continuously variable automatic transmission(CVT). Front-wheel-drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional.
The Interior Of The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander
The new Outlander comes with nicer cabin materials compared to the 2010 model. The 2010 model was made with low-quality plastics. The 2022 model has a higher interior quality, and the design also looks modern.
Other modern contents in the interior are the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a head-up display. There’s only enough head and legroom for people sitting in the first and second rows, but the third row is tight for passengers.
The 2022 Outlander offers either an 8.0 or 9.0-inch touchscreen, depending on the trim. Both units have standard Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto. But only the 9.0-inch touchscreen allows users to connect their iPhones wirelessly.
The system features hard buttons, physical knobs for volume and tuning, and charging ports at the bottom of the centre stack. Additional available infotainment features include a 10-speaker Bose audio system, wireless device charging, and access to the subscription-based Mitsubishi Connect app that provides remote services.
Driver Safety Features In The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander
There are available modern safety features installed in the 2022 Outlander. They are:
- Available forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking.
- Available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Overview Of The 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander
Although older in age and appearance than the 2022 model, the 2010 Outlander still maintains agile handling and sporty styling and has a wide range of features with a good safety score.
2010 Outlander is part of the 2007 redesign but received some updates with the 2010 model. It has an aggressive styling than the 2007 model and more features in the interior.
The engine of the 2010 model was also updated. The ES and the SE trims are powered by a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 168 horsepower and 167 pound-feet of torque. The XLS and GT trims have a 3.0-litre V6 that produces 230 horsepower and 215 lb-ft of torque. Four-cylinder Outlanders come standard with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while the V6-powered XLS and GT use a traditional six-speed automatic. Both have manual shift capability. The 2010 model is available with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
