Most Expensive Cars – Certain years just sound more futuristic than other ones, don’t they? The last truly futuristic-sounding year was 2020, but luckily, we’re getting one again next year, and the cars to match!

1. Rolls-Royce Boat Tail

Rolls-Royce is known for its luxury cars. The new Boat Tail looks exquisite, it is a successor to the gorgeous Sweptail that was produced in 2017. The Sweptail cost $12.8 million. The company hasn’t announced the pricing yet, but the rumours say that the Boat Tail is supposed to be a whopping $28 million. The exterior of the Boat Tail is two-toned, which is not seen on many cars, the finishing is high-end, and the interior comes with a “hosting suite” with a built-in sun umbrella and champagne fridge. Who doesn’t love champagne, right? Rolls Royce never disappoints.

2. Bugatti La Voiture Noire – $19 million

The world’s most expensive new car makes its North American debut this week at the world’s premier luxury auto show, the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance, which kicks off Tuesday in Monterey, California.

Bugatti debuted its one-of-a-kind $19 million La Voiture Noire, which translates to The Black Car, at the Geneva International Motor Show in March. The car pays homage to the art deco design of the Type 57SC Atlantic, one of the most coveted classic cars in the world. Designed in 1934 by Jean Bugatti, eldest son of company founder Ettore Bugatti, only four were made. Three are accounted for while the fourth one, which was lost in World War II, would be valued at well over $100 million if found today.

3. Rolls-Royce Sweptail – $13 million

The $13-million unique car – or so it is believed – was unveiled last year as a custom commission for a well-heeled Rolls-Royce client, and was easily the most striking car the British marque has ever produced.

It is one of the very few two-seater cars built by Rolls-Royce and is inspired by the extravagant shapes of the 1930s, hence the sweeping rear that conjures up images of a vintage Rolls-Royce Boat Tail speedster. The firm has swapped the rear seat for a wood mid-shelf that features an illuminated glass lip. Further back is the wood hat shelf, polished and inset with luggage rails and surrounded by a large teardrop-shaped glass roof.

4. Bugatti Centodieci – $8.9 million

The Bugatti Centodieci is the French automaker’s most powerful supercar yet — coming in a skosh above the Chiron at 1,600 horsepower. But it’s not just the power — or the $8.9 million price tag — that makes the Centodieci stand out.

The angular supercar, still dotted with the signature Bugatti design elements, tips its hat to the mid-engine EB110 supercar that debuted in 1991 when the company was owned by Romano Artioli.

One look at the Bugatti Centodieci, which had its world debut at the Quail Gathering during Monterey Car Week, and it’s clear that the early 1990s supercar was an inspiration.

5. Mercedes-Benz Maybach Exelero – $8 million

Built by German luxury car manufacturer Maybach, Maybach Exelero tops the list of the most expensive cars in the world. It costs 8 Million Dollars and can reach a top speed of 351 Kilometers per hour. During testing of the car, it reached a speed of 218.38 Miles per hour. It is also capable of acceleration from zero to 62 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds. The car was seen in Jay-Z’s music video “Lost One” in 2006. Owned by Dr Andre Action Diakite Jackson, this car has only one model.

6. Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita – $4.8 million

The Koenigsegg CCRX Trevita has a modified 4.7-litre, twin-supercharged V8 engine and can use both 98-octane petrol and ethanol. This elegant sports car has a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout along with a two-door roadster body. Trevita means “three whites” in Swedish and hence, only three units were created. The supercar has a six-speed transmission system and the engine is capable of 1,018 horsepower. One of the units is owned by celebrated show host Jay Leno. The car was personally delivered by the founder Christian von Koenigsegg at Leno’s southern California home. The graceful body of the car is made out of carbon and also has carbon composite fabric.

7. Lamborghini Veneno – $4.5 million

Lamborghini Veneno was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show 2013 with only three units. These three units were sold even before hitting the showroom. Veneno is a 740 bhp, 221 miles per hour road-going racer based on the Aventador. Lamborghini’s design is focused on maximum aerodynamic competence and shares its 6.5-litre V12 engine even though in the Veneno, it develops 50 bhp more, at 750 bhp.

8. Lamborghini Sian – $3.6 million

Lamborghini celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013 and on this occasion unveiled the Lamborghini Egoista. With 600 horsepower out of a 5.2-litre V-10, this supercar has a centre-mounted cockpit that is removable. The company has only created one ‘Egoista’ which means ‘Selfish’ and is not for sale.
