In 1968, the Mercedes-Benz E-class, which was nicknamed Stroke/8, was manufactured, and it was the first-ever Mercedes model to sell more than 1 million units. By 1976, the sales rate increased to 1.8 million saloons and 67,000 coupes. The vehicle uses a six-cylinder engine for the W114. The trims that stood out in this model were the 250 CE, with 150 horsepower, and the 280 and 280 E, with 160 and 185 Horsepower.

In 1976, the Mercedes E-class had a redesign that introduced 123 models of the series that sold over 2.7 million units in 1986, making it the most popular Mercedes then. The vehicle’s engine lineup ranged between 55 and 177 horsepower, including the 125 horsepower 300 TD turbodiesel with an exhaust-gas turbocharger.

This car’s safety features were the Double wishbone front suspension, safety steering column, impact-protected fuel tank, optional cruise control, ABS, driver airbag, and power-assisted steering.

Petrol and diesel were available for the 124 model series with 72 to 326 horsepower in the 500 E that debuted in 1990. The E 60 AMG was launched in 1993 and had a 381 horse-powered engine, with new features like a 4Matic four-wheel drive system and multi-link independent rear suspension introduced.

The W212 generation started in 2009. It came with further evolution in its design, more aerodynamic and technical improvements, and a selection of modern engines, which were topped by the 525 horsepower E63.

The estate model was introduced six months after its launch, and the coupe and cabriolet followed in 2017.
