Traffic Robbers Attack On Actor Chidi Mokeme & Music Executive Soso Soberekon, Same Day, Different Spots In Lagos

Traffic robbery in Lagos gets serious day after day. There’s no passing day. Car owners are not the target of traffic robbers, especially along the Lekki-Epe Expressway. The recently known traffic robbery victims are entertainers Chidi Mokeme and Soso Soberekon. 

On his Instagram page, actor Chidi Mokeme shares a lengthy narration of his ordeal with traffic robbers. According to the Nollywood actor, he was on his way to the airport when he noticed a car that attempted to box him in a corner, while an accomplice vehicle tried to get in front and asked him to stop.

The actor noted that he quickly suspected their moves were fishy, so he refused to stop, especially when he noticed that the other individual in the car was trying to reach for an object. 

He said that what followed next was a loud bang that shattered his windscreen. On his Instagram post, he wrote:

“I caught a quick glimpse of the guy in the rearview reaching for something. I couldn’t tell what it was but swerved. I heard a loud explosion, glass shattering, and shrapnel all over me.

“My first reaction was, “what the fuck?” I wanted to stop, but I thought otherwise and said, “don’t stop! Stopping is the expected and predictable reaction. Keep it moving and take control of the situation. But I wanted blood so badly I could taste it in my guts.

“I did the only thing that made sense to me, focusing on catching my flight. So I kept it moving. Peeps are of the opinion they were targeting my Louis Vuitton bags sitting in the back. Some think it was an abduction attempt. Whatever, God pass them.”

The music executive Soberekon, also experienced his share of traffic robbery in a different part of Lagos as the robbers damaged his windscreen. He took to social media to call on Governor Sanwo-Olu to do something about the level of insecurity ongoing in the state.
