3 Reasons Why You Should Buy The 2023 Toyota Tacoma And Not The Ford Maverick
3 Reasons Why You Should Buy The 2023 Toyota Tacoma And Not The Ford Maverick

The Toyota Tacoma is an old warrior truck loved greatly in Nigeria. You mostly find it in the possession of law enforcement agents in Nigeria. Apart from that, some other Nigerians use it for heavy-duty loads, making it a best-selling midsize truck on the market.

It is tough and durable, enjoys an enviable reputation for reliability and resale value, and the four-wheel drive versions are excellent off-road adventurers—which suits Nigerian roads. But the older designs have a tight cabin, a weak base engine, and uncoordinated handling on pavement.

First Generation Toyota Tacoma (1995-2004)

The Tacoma first came into the market with a lineup that included compact-sized regular- and extended-cab (Xtracab) styles, two four-cylinder engines, and a V-6, plus available four-wheel drive and a coil spring, double-wishbone front suspension.

Second Generation (2005-2015)

In 2005, the Tacoma was redesigned, and the 2005-2015 model gave all versions of the Tacoma a more muscular styling, a longer wheelbase, and a wider track. Though Toyota continued to call it a compact truck, it’s a mid-size truck. Regular cab, Access Cab, and Double Cab body styles still came with this generation, and the base four-cylinder engine and an available V-6 were larger and more powerful. Maximum towing capacity when properly equipped was 6,500 pounds.

Third Generation (2016-2023)

In 2016, the Tacoma received significant updates, including more aggressive front styling, a new V-6 engine, a six-speed automatic transmission, suspension changes, and high-strength steel for the frame and body.

The interior of the third-generation truck also received upgrades, and a GoPro camera mount became available. Recently, a TRD Pro model with greater off-road capability was added for 2017, and for 2018 automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with sway warning, and adaptive cruise control became standard.

The Toyota Tacoma is a popular pickup truck made by Toyota, while Lagos is a city in Nigeria, a country located in West Africa. Nigeria has a diverse road network that includes highways, urban roads, and rural roads. However, road conditions in Nigeria can vary significantly, with some areas having well-maintained roads, while others have poorly maintained or non-existent roads.

If you’re considering driving a Toyota Tacoma in Nigeria, it’s important to be aware of the road conditions in the areas where you’ll be driving. Some roads may be paved, while others may be dirt or gravel. You should also be aware of traffic laws and regulations in Nigeria, as well as any potential safety risks that may exist on the roads.

It’s also worth noting that the Toyota Tacoma is not a commonly used vehicle in Nigeria, where smaller cars and SUVs are more popular due to their fuel efficiency and ease of manoeuvrability on narrow and congested roads.

Conclusion

The above price list contains Toyota Tacoma trucks from two generations—the first and second. The prices of the third generation are higher than these models. However, these other generations are equally equipped with good features and are affordable in Nigeria.
