Thugs APC Senatorial Candidate’s Motorcade, Resulting in 17 injuries

At least 17 people were injured on Saturday when a group of people suspected of being political thugs launched an attack on the campaign motorcade of the candidate for the Kano central senatorial seat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Abdussalam Abdulkarim. The victims’ injuries ranged from minor to severe.

The sad occurrence that took place in Gayawa village in the Ungogo local government area of Kano disrupted the tranquillity of the sleeping community for several hours, forcing locals to scramble for safety in order to protect themselves.

The ugly trend that resulted in more than ten campaign vehicles being vandalized left no reports of life-threatening casualties; however, eyewitnesses revealed that a senatorial candidate affectionately called AA Zaura narrowly escaped the attack unhurt in the ugly trend that left more than ten campaign vehicles vandalized.

AA Zaura’s media assistant, Ibrahim Mua’azzam, has confirmed the event and said that the incident occurred when the senatorial candidate was travelling back from a visit to pay his condolences.

He said that Gadar Katako is located in the Nassarawa local government area. Zaura has issued an appeal for calm despite the fact that the perpetrators have not been identified.

In the meantime, the Director-General of the AA Zaura Campaign organization, Hon. Yahaya Adamu Garin Ali has petitioned the Kano state Police Command to demand a comprehensive inquiry into the attack that was carried out on the campaign coney of the senatorial candidate.

In a petition dated December 17th, 2022 and sent to the Commissioner of Police, a copy of which was made accessible to journalists, Garin Ali issued a challenge to the police, demanding that they reveal who committed the crime and quickly begin prosecuting them.
