Here’s a new KIA EV6 GT by KIA, and the car is faster than a Porsche Taycan GTS. The good news about the KIA does not stop there, there’s more to the vehicle. The KIA also costs half of the actual price of the Porsche.
A dual motor, all-well-drive electric powertrain powers this KIA EV6 GT. An electric motor powers the front wheels, and an even larger one powers the rear ones.
It delivers 576 horsepower and 46 lb-ft of torque in total. In simpler terms, this means the EV6 GT can accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. This makes it quicker than a Porsche Taycan GTS.
It only takes about 18 minutes to charge the battery of the EV6 GT from 10 per cent to 80 per cent. This is because the KIA GT6 supports ultra-fast 800V charging.
Design-wise, the EV6 GT combines the aesthetics of a sedan with the proportions and size of an SUV.
The company calls the EV6 GT a “crossover” SUV. It is certainly taller and shorter than a Taycan. It looks like a slightly less boxy Tesla Model Y.
The cabin is the usual triumph of displays. In addition to the digital touchscreen display in the dashboard, you can also access some physical buttons and knobs.
The best part of the KIA is the price. A brand-new Porsche Taycan GTS costs $134,100, equivalent to ₦97 million. That’s even without customization.
Meanwhile, the price of the KIA starts at $61,400, which is the equivalent of ₦45 million using the current exchange rate.
