Meet the all-new Toyota Grand Highlander adding yet ANOTHER SUV to the brand’s lineup and slotting between the Highlander and the Sequoia and just wait because the 4Runner is still coming back too, confusing right? Anyways, the Grand Highlander is meant to compete with the Telluride, Palisade, and more premium options like the Grand Cherokee L and the new CX-90 from Mazda not to mention some ugly ones like the Subaru Ascent.

While the Grand Highlander can seat up to 8 people, it only has 13 cup holders vs the 19 in the Subaru Ascent bummer.
There will be 3 powertrains on offer the base will be a 2.4L turbo 4 and then there will be a 2.5L hybrid both in either FWD or AWD. Then will come the Hybrid MAX powertrain making 362HP and 400 lb-ft of torque from a turbo 4 cylinder. The quickest model will do 6.3sec to 60 and can tow 5,000 lbs.

Inside is every appliance like and that’s the point of the Gran Highlander, it’s a utilitarian 7-8 passenger, not a luxury SUV except common seas of black plastic, decent seats and functional tech.

Here we get USB C ports galore, a 12.3 in the infotainment system, fake wood trim, OTA updates, a WiFi hotspot and a host of safety systems.
So yeah if you don’t want a Sienna, or a Sequoia, get the Grand Highlander! No pricing is out yet.
