One can almost say Pastor Paul was destined to go global, as he spent his early years in Nigeria and the United States. Born into an affluent family, Pastor Paul had the basic needs of life at his disposal. He was born on the 25th of January 1963 to a Nigerian Father, Joseph Adefarasin, and a Jamaican mother, Hilda Adefarasin; he was christened Paul Adeolu Adefarasin. His father worked in the Nigerian High court, while his mother is a Women’s Rights activist. He has a brother named Wale Adefarasin, who is also the senior pastor and general overseer of Guiding Light Assembly. It’s as though ministry runs in the bloodline of the Adefarasins.

He schooled a while in Nigeria before he travelled to the US to complete his education. He attended St Saviour’s School Ikoyi for his primary education. Pastor Paul also attended the Igbobi College, Yaba. For his secondary school Education, He went as far as attending a public school in England, Haileybury College, Hertfordshire. He attended the University of Miami in Florida where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. While he lived in Florida, Pastor Paul Adefarasin worked as an architect with Baldwin, Sackman, and Carrington Architects.

Despite the fact that Paul Adefarasin had everything working for him, it didn’t stop him from venturing into drugs. He was a drug addict for a while until he came to repentance in 1994 when Jesus Christ saved him. Taking his salvation seriously and with a desire to grow in Christ, Pastor Paul Adefarasin undertook a Diploma in Christian Ministry from the prestigious International Bible Institute Of London.

Before moving to start his own church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin served as a youth pastor in the United States. After this, he received his first pastorate at the Action Chapel, in London.

Returning to Nigeria in 1994, Pastor Paul Adefarasin started The House On The Rock Church. The House On The Rock Church, which has now gone global didn’t start that way, in fact, the church didn’t have a building of its own when it started. The start of his ministry took place in his mother’s living room with just a few attendees. Today, this church is one of the biggest in Lagos, Nigeria. It has over 40 branches across Africa and Europe at large, with Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the Founder, General Overseer, and Senior Pastor of House On The Rock. He is a committed mentee of Bishop T.D Jakes. From the beginning of his ministry to date, he has been preaching the message of hope to every country that he comes across.

He also hosts a weekly television program “Something is about to happen”. Adefarasin is also the convenor of “The Experience”, the largest musical event in Africa. The Experience, which holds in Lagos, is the largest musical concert that hosts versatile and heavyweight music worship artists from across the continent. Pastor Paul Adefarasin started the Experience as an instruction from the Lord in 2006; the concert has seen many lives blessed and transformed. Pastor Paul Adefarasin ventured into music himself. In 2011, he collaborated with Nigeria’s musicians such as Niki Laoye, Segun Obe, Sammie Okposo, and Saxophonist Mike Aremu to produce a music album.

Adefarasin is also the author of over 20 motivational Christian books and some of them include; Something Is About To Happen, The Call For A Performing Generation, and so on. Paul Adefarasin presently serves in several capacities in the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and currently chairs its National Youth.
