“It’s Sad And Disheartening”: Reckless Driver Kills SS3 Student In Akure, Citizens Burns His Car Into Ashes, Photo Goes Viral

A recent photo that had gone viral shows when a reckless driver killed an SS3 student in Akure, and citizens immediately burned the driver’s car to ashes.

The report was posted on the Twitter handle @YemieFash called the attention of the governor of Ondo State in his tweet, saying: 

“Good morning, Your Excellency, @RotimiAkeredolu, There is a pressing issue we need to address immediately, reckless driving among young boys is fast becoming a norm in Akure, we lost an SS3 student to this recklessness yesterday, It is high time the government did something to arrest the situation. Thank you, sir.”

The images attached to the tweet, shows that aggrieved citizens immediately set the vehicle ablaze the moment the vehicle ran into and killed the student. 

Many social media users have reacted to the incident by saying:

@Dopeboycharisma commented: So it happened and you’ve to burn the vehicle? Did you investigate the incident? Do you know if he lost control of his car ? His brake failed? Or whatever might have happened? Are you the law? In some cases you people even kill the suspect. Is that the way to go?

@Meetemmanueljacob said: I’m not sure that place you are rushing to can ever be as important as any human life or even your life. Reckless driving is the most irresponsible thing anyone can ever do. Even if you have an emergency, you still need to get there alive. So why risk it all?”
