Identities of Eight Children Who Died In An Abandoned Car In Lagos Revealed

The untimely loss of eight youngsters on Adelayo Street caused sobbing and sorrow at Jah-Michael Bus-Stop. According to reports, the children died of suffocation after becoming trapped in an abandoned vehicle on Saturday, December 4th. While the state’s police command is conducting a comprehensive investigation into the children’s deaths, their bodies have been transferred to the Badagry General Hospital morgue.

On Saturday, December 4, eight children were confirmed deceased after being discovered in a parked car in Lagos. According to The Cable, the van in which the children died of asphyxia was parked at Adelayo Street, Jah-Michael Bus-Stop, off Badagry Expressway, Lagos.

The children unknowingly locked themselves in the car while playing, according to Adekunle Ajisebutu, a spokesman for the state police command on Sunday, December 5. Their bodies have been transferred to the morgue at the Badagry General Hospital, according to Ajisebutu.

According to him, the Lagos Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered an inquiry into the tragedy to determine what caused the children’s deaths. One of the children was the grandchild of the car’s owner, who happened to be a late, retired staff member of the Lagos State University (LASU), according to PM News. The other seven children are believed to be the children of local Burea De Change operators.
