Hyundai Reveals The IONIQ 6, Interiors Made Out Of Plastic Bottles And Fishing Nets

The popular car company, Hyundai has finally made the reveal of the second model in its Ioniq EV lineup–the hotly anticipated Ioniq 6.

The company is calling the car an “Electrified Streamliner.”

It’s a sleek four-door fastback and it will be the most aerodynamic car Hyundai has ever made. Looking at the success of the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 has features of a design that centers around its unique cocoon-like interior.

The entirety of the car is designed around driver and passenger comfort and convenience.

Also, it features a perfectly flat floor and door cards that make the interior feel more spacious. The interior of the car is made up of sustainable materials as well, including vegan leather and recycled plastic bottles and fishing nets.

There’s a two-inch display sit in front of the driver for the instrument cluster and infotainment display. There’s also another screen on each side of the dashboard for the car’s digital rear-view mirrors.

The interior is also brightly lit with 64-color ambient lighting.

Also, there are six preset color themes “developed by color experts” for the utmost relaxation and comfort.

Additionally, you’ll find the “Pixel Lights” feature in the middle of the steering wheel for the driver to interact with the car.

What defines the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the Pixel Light, with 700 such lights in its headlights, taillights, and interior.

The car also has a low drag coefficient of 0.21 which is made possible by its low nose, active aero flaps, and boat-tail inspired rear end.

How much is this IONIQ 6 going to cost? Hyundai hasn’t confirmed any prices yet, but if it comes with the same motor and battery options as the Ioniq 5 then it should end up costing about the same.

You’ll probably be able to get a single-motor car with a 58kWh battery for around ₦20,109,449.75 when it goes on sale later this year or in early 2023. Top-spec cars with a 77kWh battery and dual motors will probably set you back close to ₦25,159,755.86.
