A Nigerian Airforce helicopter has crashed in a village in Niger leaving many casualties in an interior area of the state.

The Airforce helicopter is the MI-171 Helicopter, and it crashed near Chubuka village in Niger state. The incident is reported to have happened on August, 14 at about 1 pm when the aircraft departed Zungeru Primary School while en route to Kaduna but was later discovered to have crashed near Chubuka Village in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

Currently, the Nigerian government is making efforts to rescue the crew and passengers on board the helicopter, while preliminary investigations have commenced to determine the cause of the crash.
