Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and the founder who is obsessed with artificial intelligence and technological advancement thinks flying cars are a totally dumb idea.

While many AI enthusiasts are making claims that flying cars will take over the future, Elon Musk is not buying any of that. In fact, the CEO of the top-rated electric vehicle company says the idea is dumb, especially for in-city travel.

Talking to a reputable publication, Bloomberg, Elon Musk says: “Obviously, I like flying things. But it’s difficult to imagine the flying car becoming a scalable solution.”

Elon Musk goes further to say: “If somebody doesn’t maintain their flying car, it could drop a hubcap and guillotine you. Your anxiety level will not decrease as a result of things that weigh a lot buzzing around your head.”

Elon Musk pointed out the noise problem that flying cars would create because flying cars would need to generate significant downward force to keep them from falling, which would mean plenty of wind and noise.”

While some companies have started production of flying cars like the Chinese XPeng X2, there’s no certainty that flying cars will take over in the future. People are still trying to wrap their heads around self-driving cars and might not be ready to have discussions about flying cars.
