Innoson Motors has finally unveiled the IVM CITY BUS 6115, the first indigenous manufactured CNG vehicle in Nigeria. The 55 Seater IVM CITY BUS 6115 uses Condensed Natural Gas (CNG) as fuel. This auto fuel is cleaner and 50 per cent cheaper than traditional fuels such as diesel and petrol. Innoson is producing 100 units of CNG city buses for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC). According to Innoson, the CNG-powered buses will help cushion the effects of this year’s planned fuel subsidy removal.

The Indigenous automaker, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) has unveiled a brand new model called the IVM CITY BUS 6115, which is the first locally-made Condensed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle in Nigeria.

The 55 Seater IVM CITY BUS 6115 uses Condensed Natural Gas (CNG) as fuel. This auto fuel is cleaner and 50 per cent cheaper than traditional fuels such as diesel and petrol.
“I am doing city buses for NNPC. The one that will use gas. 100 units. I am producing it from start to finish. It will be purely gas. But I made it in such a way that in case there is a scarcity of gas, it will use diesel. So, it can change as an alternative,” The chairman of Innoson Group, Chief Innocent Chukwuma earlier revealed.
Back in October, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing also announced plans to help owners convert their petrol-powered vehicles to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
A post announcing the plan revealed that the automaker will soon formally open its factory for vehicle owners to convert their petrol vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles but the Facebook post did not specify whether or not this conversion at the Innoson facility would be available to only IVM-branded vehicles or all vehicles.
