Bright Cyph is one of the BBNaija season 7 housemates that have been gracing our scenes since the season began on the 23rd of July. 

Many who have seen him on their screens might only identify him as Cyph because he goes by Bright Hidi Nweke. He is a 27 years old brand designer, software developer, Tv/ radio personality, and electrical engineer. Cyph says about himself, “I’m goofy, sociable and playful too though, so that balances it out.”

Although Cyph is a software developer and visual designer with a rich portfolio, he recently joined the Big Brother Naija show, which means we will see many of him on our screens.

Bright Cyph BBNaija Biography

Bright Hidi Nweke, popularly known in the house as Cyph, was born in Owerri, Imo, Nigeria, on the 19th of June, 1995, to Mr and Mrs Nwekete. He is a Christian and was raised in the Catholic faith by his parents. 

Cyph did his primary education in Owerri. He briefly attended St. Paul’s International Boys Secondary School, Owerri. Afterwards, he switched to Marist Comprehensive Academy to complete his secondary school, where he graduated in 2012. For his university education, he studied Electrical Engineering at Madonna University. Subsequently, he moved to Abuja for his National Youth Service.

During his Uni days, that was when Cyph picked interest in being a cartoonist. So, he used computer software to create cartoon arts. Soon enough, he moved from creating personal cartoon work to making commissioned works.

After Uni, Cyph interned at NTA Headquarters in Abuja for his service year. He worked as a Broadcast Engineer at the organisation. Upon completing his service year in 2019, he entered the creative industry.

Before doing that, he learned graphic design skills.

Over the years, he worked as a Visual Communicator for Chawfesr in December 2019. He also held the same role at NGAGE Media Global in Abuja.

Currently, he is a UI/UX designer, gaining employment in March 2020. He is working as a Creative Designer for Dyme Academy, based in Austin, Texas.

However, Cyph has also had a flare for entertainment. He decided to explore his passion by becoming a reality TV star. He auditioned for the seventh season of Big Brother Naija and luckily got selected as one of the 24 housemates to compete for the grand prize of 100 million Naira.

When asked why he signed up for Big Brother Naija, Cyph said, 

“I’ve always wanted to be seen or known beyond the comfort of my home, phone and friends. I have a lot to give society, and I see BBNaija as that first step.”

Cyph admits, “you only live once.” And he ensures to remember this when he has disagreements with loved ones by hashing out any differences immediately. The 27 years old is the first to admit he loves being happy but is prone to crying if someone makes him extremely angry.

Although not in a relationship, Cyph admits that he currently has his eyes set on someone outside the House.

With his line of work and the US-based company, Cyph’s net worth is estimated between $20,000 to $30,000.
