Ahmed Musa was born on the 14th of October 1992 in Jos, Nigeria. He is a native of Borno State, Nigeria and he is a Muslim by faith. He plays as a forward and left winger for Al-Nassr, a Saudi-Arabian team, and the Nigerian national team- The Super Eagles.

He was born to a Christian mother from Edo state and a Muslim father from Borno state. He was born into a polygamous family, but Ahmed Musa lost his father in 1999 when he was just 7 years old. His mother continued to support the family, alongside his 4 sisters. His mother passed away unfortunately in 2019.

Ahmed Musa began his football career in the GBS football academy in Jos. In 2008, he was loaned to JUTH.FC, where he played in 18 games. He was then sent to Kano Pillars F.C., on another loan. He used to hold the record for the highest number of goals ever made in one season in Nigerian Premier League history. In 2010, Ahmed Musa was transferred to VVV-Venlo, a Dutch club but he was unable to play at the time because he was 17 years of age. He began to play for VVV-Venlo officially when he turned 18 on the 14th of 0ctober.

He also played for CSKA Moscow, a Russian-based club between 2012 – 2016, where he scored 42 goals in 125 appearances and won the Russian Premier League 3 times; the Russian Cup; and the Russian super cup. In July 2016 he was signed by Leicester City football club from England. His transfer fee was valued at 16.6 million pounds, but in January 2018 after making 21 appearances and scoring 2 goals, he moved back to CSKA Moscow football club on a loan from Leicester City from 2017 to 2018.  In August 2018, he was reportedly signed to Al-Nassr his current club for 14.5 million pounds.

He has been nicknamed ‘The Governor’ by his teammates and friends following rumors that he was interested in politics. He is also an astute and devoted Muslim, who ensures that he participates in all religious activities as seen on his social media pages. He is also a Philanthropist, who gives to the poor and needy when he has the opportunity to do so.

Based on his talents and numerous achievements, Goal.com included his name on the top 100 young football players that should be looked out for in 2011. Also, another expert from Goal.com, Lolade Adewuyi included his name on the list of the most talented Nigerian International players in the year 2010. He was also included in the list of the 140 best players in the world by IFFHS.

Ahmed Musa has been married twice. He was first married to Jamila Musa, with whom he had 2 children, but they got divorced on the terms of alleged domestic violence. There were rumours that Ahmed Musa had been involved with Juliet Ejue, while still married to Jamila. And in 2017 after his divorce from Jamila, he got married to Juliet. In 2018, Juliet gave birth to a baby boy called Ibrahim.

He was brought up in Jos, Nigeria, so his first port of call was to build a mansion in his childhood city. In 2013, his home was burgled when some armed men raided his house wanting to take away his ex-wife and son.
