Desmond Oluwashola Elliot popularly known as Desmond Elliot is a Nigerian Actor, Movie Director, and Politician. He was born on the 4^th of February 1974 to a Yoruba father and a Deltan mother. His father hails from Ologbowo, Lagos Island, Lagos, while his mother hails from Illah, Oshimili North, Delta State. He had his Primary school education at Airforce Primary school, Jos and he had his Secondary school education at St. John’s College, Jos.

After completing his basic education, he proceeded to Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, in 2003 to obtain a degree in Economics. After obtaining his first degree in Economics, he was encouraged by a friend to join Nollywood in Nigeria. He heeded and started out acting in soap operas and proceeded to act in many soap operas like ‘Everyday people’, ‘Saints and Sinners’, ‘Super Story’, ‘One too much’ and many other soap operas.

He started edging away from the norm and he began acting in movies like ‘Yahoo million’, ‘Men who cheat’, ‘Atlanta’ and several prominent movies counting over 200. He started out as a Co-Producer and Co-Director in 2008 when he worked on a movie called ‘Reloaded.’ The movie was released in 2008 and following its success, Desmond Elliot was nominated for several awards in 2008 to 2010 respectively.

In 2010 also, he competed to become the Ambassador for Face of Hope project, a non-profit, non-religious, NGO aimed at giving hope to the hopeless. He won, and in addition, he created his own NGO foundation called Desmond Elliot Foundation, which focuses on strengthening the health sector in Nigeria.

In September 2014, Desmond Elliot showed his interest in campaigning to run for a position in the Lagos State House Assembly under the All Progressive Congress (APC) Party. The next year in April, he emerged as the winner of the Surulere constituency House of Assembly. In 2019, he contested again for the same position and in the same constituency and he emerged a winner.

Desmond Elliot is a married man and is the husband of Victoria Elliot. The two of them tied the knot on the 25^th of December 2003 in Akwa-Ibom state after courting for eight years. The duo manages Denziot Productions, a company focused on the sales and distribution of Nollywood movies. Together, they are blessed with 4 children.
