A police van has crushed a customer’s car, as they reportedly mistook a mechanic for a Yahoo Boy in a car chase

In a shocking incident trending at the moment, a police van engaged in a car chase that tragically resulted in the destruction of a customer’s vehicle. The incident unfolded when the police officers allegedly misidentified a mechanic as a “Yahoo boy” or internet fraudster.

The video footage, which quickly spread across social media platforms, shows the police van pursuing a vehicle on a busy street of Igbeba, Ijebu Ode. In the intensity of the chase, the police van collided with a parked car that belonged to a customer seeking repairs at the mechanic’s workshop.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the confusion arose when the police mistakenly believed the mechanic, who was test-driving the customer’s vehicle, to be involved in fraudulent activities.

Driven by their pursuit of a suspected criminal, the police engaged in a high-speed chase that tragically culminated in a collision with the innocent customer’s car.
