The 2023 Toyota Camry offers three engine options: a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine (205 horsepower), a 3.5-litre V-6 engine (301 horsepower), and a hybrid (208 horsepower). Compared to the Corolla, the Camry has a higher base engine horsepower and maximum horsepower output. Also, like the Corolla, the Camry offers an available all-wheel drive system.

Corolla Vs. Camry: Gas Mileage

For the hybrid versions, each of the cars has similar efficiency ratings. The Corolla Hybrid has an estimated fuel economy of up to 53 city/52 highway mpg, compared to 51 city/53 highway mpg for Camry Hybrid.

Corolla Vs. Camry: Safety

When it comes to safety, the Corolla and the Camry are both very strong for safety. For the 2022 model, both cars earned an IIHS(Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) Top Safety Pick + award, the highest possible IIHS rating.

Corolla Vs. Camry: Passenger & Cargo Space

When it comes to size, the 2023 Camry is bigger than the 2023 Corolla, which results in more passenger space. It has a total passenger volume of 100.4 cubic feet. In comparison, the Corolla Sedan has a total passenger volume of 88.6 cubic feet, while the Corolla Hatchback has 84.6 cubic feet of passenger space.

When you look at the storage space, the Camry has a larger trunk than the Corolla, with a maximum cargo capacity of 15.1 cubic feet compared to 13.1 cubic feet for the Corolla. However, the Corolla Hatchback has a maximum cargo capacity of 23.0 cubic feet.

Corolla Vs. Camry: Warranty & Reliability

The 2022 Corolla’s price started at $20,425 for the L trim and up to $28,710 for the APEX XSE trim. However, the L trim is not returning in 2023, so the base model will be the LE trim which had a starting price of $20,875 for the 2022 model.

Where they’re similar:

The 2023 Corolla received a thorough refresh for the new model year, but not a full redesign. That means that the 2023 and 2023 Toyota Camry models are more similar than they are different. Overall engine options and performance specs stay the same, as do cargo space and interior dimensions. Both models offer the Nightshade Special Edition exterior package on sedan and hatchback models.

Where they’re different:

While this was just a refresh for the 2023 Corolla vs. the 2023 Toyota Camry, there are plenty of changes. One addition is an updated Toyota Safety Sense+ suite of safety and driver-assistance features.

The new model brings updated styling to the front fascia of most trim levels in the lineup, plus a few new colours. The 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid offers new trim levels and, for the first time, all-wheel drive. The 2023 Toyota Camry will likely be slightly more expensive.
