2021 Nissan Sentra Price in Nigeria: Specifications, Review

For a very long time, the Nissan Sentra was a tiny sedan that was primarily promoted by price. The Sentra, on the other hand, debuted last year with a chic new appearance, a luxurious interior, and an arsenal of cutting-edge technological capabilities. The Nissan Maxima’s elegant proportions and fascinating angles are mimicked on the exterior. The interior, especially when outfitted in the optional leather, appears to have been lifted from a more expensive model. Under the skin, the alterations have little transformative power.

The only engine available is the larger, modestly produced four-cylinder engine. The Sentra lacks a response to rivals like the Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla’s spirited turbos and fuel-efficient hybrids. The ride and handling are better. For a small car with an inexpensive price, the 2021 Nissan Sentra looks really stylish. The Nissan lineup’s second-smallest car has a nice interior to go along with its appealing exterior.

Unfortunately, Sentra’s surface-level attributes don’t convert into enjoyable driving experiences to the same extent as, say, the stylish and sporty Mazda 3. Additionally, Sentra’s sluggish four-cylinder engine and the rough ride provided by the sportiest SR model’s suspension leave us unimpressed. However, the 2021 Sentra will ably satisfy buyers who place a premium on interior comfort, safety features, and style.

The improved Sentra comes packaged with features which include an 8.0-inch touchscreen that is bigger, adaptive cruise control, and automated dual-zone climate control. The SV Premium package, which includes 17-inch aluminium wheels, heated front seats, quilted leather upholstery, and a leather shift knob, is another enhancement we’d make to it.

2021 Nissan Sentra Trim Levels

The trim levels for 2021 are S, SV,

The mid-level SV trim, which costs only approximately $1000 more than the base model, is what we’d choose. It includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen that is bigger, adaptive cruise control, and automated dual-zone climate control. The SV Premium package, which includes 17-inch aluminium wheels, heated front seats, quilted leather upholstery, a leather shift knob, a power driver’s seat, and a sunroof, is another upgrade most would add.

2021 Nissan Sentra Engine, Horsepower, and Performance

Every 2021 Sentra comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 149 horsepower and is mated to a CVT and front-wheel drive. The Sentra we tried was noisy and slow, especially when trying to pass at highway speeds, despite the gearless automatic’s simulating traditional gear changes. Behind the wheel, there isn’t much entertainment either. Although the steering effort is substantial and dependable, it is not quite as expressive as that of competitors like the Civic and Mazda 3. The Nissan has independent rear suspension and 16 to 18-inch wheels as standard equipment. Even so, the Sentra is suitable for weekend excursions as well as daily commutes.

Our astonishment at its braking system was particular. From 70 mph, it had a comforting pedal feel and strong stopping force, coming to a stop in a class-competitive 170 feet.

2021 Nissan Sentra: Fuel Economy and Actual MPG

The 2021 Sentra is predicted by the EPA to achieve up to 29 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway. These figures drop to 28 mpg city and 37 mpg highway in the sportier SR model. The Toyota Corolla tops the list with 31 mpg city and 40 mpg highway, but the Nissan is still just as efficient as several rivals that are also powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder and CVT.

The Sentra boasts one of the market’s most attractive interiors. On all models except the base model, the driver is faced with a set of straightforward analogue gauges sandwiching a 7.0-inch LCD. Three round air vents are located in the centre of the dashboard, over strong climate controls. Soft and hard plastics are mixed in the interior materials, but the former cover the important surfaces and conceal the others. Even though the quilted leather upholstery contrasts with the athletic car’s flat-bottom steering wheel, these models look particularly premium.

Nissan also pampers front-seat occupants with its luxurious Zero Gravity seats, which are roomy, supple, and supportive. Adults have plenty of room in the front and rear, but the headroom in the cabin is reduced if the optional sunroof is chosen. The Sentra’s 14-cubic-foot trunk also accommodated seven carry-on bags, one more than the Corolla sedan’s capacity.

2021 Nissan Sentra Connectivity and Infotainment Systems

Higher grades of the 2021 Nissan Sentra can upgrade to an 8-inch touchscreen as standard. Since factory navigation is not available, both offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which drivers must use for maps and instructions. Jumping to numerous important functions is made possible via physical buttons, and additional information can be shown on a screen that can be customized in the instrument cluster. The standard Sentra has one USB-A connector; the other trims include a USB-C port for front-seat users and a USB-A port for rear-seat users.

2021 Nissan Sentra Price

The S, SV, and SR trim levels make up the 2021 Nissan Sentra’s lineup, which is fairly straightforward. Additionally, for free, the SV and SR each provide a Premium package option bundle. Although the Nissan S is the most widely sold model, the SV is our top pick for value. The price of the trim levels is:

  • 2021 Nissan Sentra S, $21,665.
  • 2021 Nissan Sentra SV, $21,957.
  • 2021 Nissan Sentra SR: $22,000.

In Nigeria, the price for a 2021 Nissan Sentra will start from 15 million naira to 18.5 million naira

2021 Nissan Sentra Buying Guide

The Sentra has a generally good reputation for dependability, but hiccups do occasionally occur, especially if you wish to buy a used version. In particular, look for damage at the lower edges of the windscreen, where small cracks can easily grow.

Check the steering wheel for any resistance because the steering rack on some Notes has needed to be replaced. Additionally, check the footwells for any indications of recent or past moisture because the air conditioning has been known to leak.

The auxiliary belt can experience early wear, so open the bonnet and inspect any drive belts you can see for symptoms of fraying or perishing. When you test drive the vehicle, keep an ear out for any front suspension squeaks, as these are frequent signs that the anti-roll bar bushes need to be replaced. Verify the functionality of every electrical component, especially the windows and stereo because gremlins are not unheard of.

Conclusion

Based on reviews, the 2021 Nissan Sentra has been praised for its front seats which are incredibly comfy, a lovely cabin, and a comforting brake pedal. But, it also has some setbacks, like larger wheels and tires hampering the ride, and the competition is sportier, so the acceleration is sluggish. The Sentra is a lovely and comfortable compact car, but it isn’t the most enjoyable to drive.
