The 2021 Mercedes-Benz G-Class and AMG G63 are trim levels under the G-class wagen model. The G63 is a high-performance trim while the G550 is a modest trim with plenty of features.

The base G-class G550 trim has a twin-turbocharged engine that produces 416 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. The AMG G63 trim has a twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 577 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Both come with a refined nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all the wheels. During its performance testing, the AMG63 ran from 0 mph to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds.

Alongside its extra power, the G63 has AMG-specific suspension tuning and the ride comfort has been improved compared to older G-wagon versions. When properly equipped, the G63 can tow up to 6,500 pounds.

The Mercedes-Benz is a very comfortable SUV in just any situation, unlike many body-on-frame vehicles that sacrifice some on-road comfort for off-roading capabilities. Its suspension is smooth and covers the flaws on the road. The handling is largely composed and four-wheel drive is standard.

The G-class has five passenger seats. The front seats have 10-way power adjustability and both rows of seats are heated. There are leather upholstery and a power-adjustable steering wheel which come standard too. The two rows of seats are cushioned, spacious and supportive. There is enough space and an open cabin that helps owners of the G-class feel comfortable even when driving for long.

The interior was made with luxurious materials such as soft leathers or wooden accents which fill this SUV’s cabin. Everything looks and feels high-quality.

The 38.1 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 68.6 cubic feet behind the front seat makes this vehicle trail most of its rivals in terms of cargo capacity.
