The 2010 Toyota Highlander comes in four different trims (Base, Sport, SE & Limited). It comes with a sunroof option on base four-cylinder models and an available rearview camera that’s offered on base V6-powered trims. The 2010 Highlander is basically a crossover between a sports-utility vehicle and a sedan.

2010 represents the second generation of the Highlander. The base model comes with a 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine, but it also has a 3.5-litre V6 engine which is the main attraction because of the balance of performance and good fuel economy.

The interior of the 2010 Highlander is also comfortable for seven passengers, though the third row is tighter than the other rows.

The more popular powertrain of the 2010 Highlander is the 3.5-litre V6 that produces 270 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. It has a five-speed automatic, and front-wheel drive is standard, while there’s the optional all-wheel drive.

The 2010 Highlander comes with a handful of safety features like;

  • Antilock Disc Brakes
  • Stability Control
  • Hill-Start Assist (helps to keep the vehicle from rolling backwards when driving away from a stop).

The all-wheel-drive has an additional feature;

  • Downhill Assist (helps the driver make a slow, controlled descent on steep, slick surfaces like snow-covered driveways).

2023 Or 2010 Toyota Highlander?

In every angle, the 2023 Toyota Highlander beats the 2010 model. Not only is 2010 an old model vehicle with outdated features and design, but 2023 also comes equipped with modern features that beat the 2010 both in appearance and performance.

The only reason anyone will choose the 2010 Highlander over the 2023 model will be price related. The base trim of the 2023 Highlander price is $37,755, while the highest trim, the Hybrid Platinum, costs $52,010.

Conclusion

The Highlander has come a long way from what it was in 2010. With the 2023 model, there have been a lot of new upgrades and advancements that meet modern requirements.

Therefore, if you can afford to, the 2023 model is a better option. Even the base trim is better than the highest trim of the 2010 model.
